"True Colours" wins runner up in the InkTears Short Story Competition

9/4/2013

InkTears is a great website which brings together writers and readers online. Their mission statement is to "encourage more people to discover the pleasure of the short story" - a sentiment I most certainly support! Every month they email a short story to their membership, also publishing them on their site.

They also run a yearly short story competition - a fiercely contested affair which attracts hundreds of entries.

I'm stunned to say that my short story "True Colours" has been awarded runner up prize in their 2012 competition!

It's due to be published in May 2013. Get my story, and those of all the other competition winners, by signing up for free here.

"The Real Miracle" published by Litro Magazine

19/12/2012

My short story, "The Real Miracle", has been published by Litro Magazine - both in print and online.

Litro not only produce a quality, free, pocket-sized literary magazine which is liberally distributed in bookshops, cafes and museums around London - they also have a terrific website chock full of brilliant short fiction, poems, articles, podcasts and much more besides.

My story has appeared in issue 121 - an issue with a "magic" theme - I couldn't resist having a go, and am delighted that it was accepted.

Pick up a print copy at any of their stockists - alternatively, read issue 121 online here, or jump straight to my story here.

"Poverty Gap" published on Strange Bounce

29/8/2012

My short story, "Poverty Gap", has been published on strange bOUnce: a "Sideways Short Story Site".

In their own words, they're a "strange brew of fiction, satire and verse, with a dash of sport, all coming from a group of writers who want to bOUnce to a different beat".

It's a cool site with lots of fantastic stories and articles, and it's great to be a part of it!

Read my story here, or browse their site to read more of their sport fiction.
