Stories For Homes is a collaborative project between members of the writing community to raise funds for the housing charity Shelter, and to raise awareness about the housing crisis in London and beyond. Early in 2013, writers were invited to submit stories with the theme of "home". After many weeks of tireless efforts, led by the editorial team of Sally Swingewood and Debi Alper, in July 2013 a book of 62 stories was compiled and published as an ebook (including my story "Green Door"). It was wonderful to be part of a team effort, where all contributors pitched in with the editing (every writer who submitted was paired up with a fellow writer to work on each others' stories), as well as design, formatting, proofreading, publicity - and everything which goes into making a proper, quality book! After a whole lot more tireless work, the paperback book (a bumper edition of 527 pages!) is now available. Click here to buy it from Createspace, or here to get it from Amazon. Don't forget, you can also still buy it for your e-reader here. PS. If anyone fancies coming along to the launch party, please do! It's from 6PM on Friday 13th December at Bookseller Crow in Crystal Palace. You'll also be able to buy the book from there. Details here. |
